I used it to shorten two horizontal pipes on a heavy duty Hollywood bike rack. The tubes are 1 medium steel with 1/8 walls, certainly tougher than thin-wall conduit pipe! The Rigid cutter is heavy and well-made and operates smoothly with little play in the cutting wheel or rollers. The roller assembly has channels that slide on tracks on either side for very smooth and steady operation.

This is an excellent, professional-grade, plumbing tool. I'm not sure what, exactly, the one-star reviewer had trouble with, but I can state the following with certainty.

Most likely I will never have to replace this tool. And although not inexpensive, I think I'll be ordering one for my son... it's just too good not to share. I would recommend this product to anyone. Indulge yourself; life is simply too short for suffering with cheap tubing cutters (or cheap any tool for that matter.)

After many years of just getting by with inexpensive, no-name imported tubing cutters, it was a joy receiving this American Made Ridgid tool. My first impression was of its heft - this tool is obviously built for the long haul and years of service. The cut is clean and easy.

High quality, Tracks well. Tubing reamer locks in place and works very well. Purchased this tubing cutter to replace a cutter that the knob kept falling off. Very glad that I have a excellent tubing cutter. Highly recommend.
